RYLO is a family owned business operating on Kaua’i since 1998. Fully licensed and insured in the state of Hawai’i, we specialize in excavation, hardscaping, landscaping, and various projects related to the earth. Ryan Ell

Since 1998 Ryan Ell has been the owner and operator of RYLO Excavation & Landscaping. He is a licensed contractor in the state of Hawai’i.

Ryan has been in dirt and on machines since he was four, when his father, a general contractor, had him helping on job sites. Ryan’s life experience and education in mathematics and computer science at University of Hawai’i has allowed him insight and precision in his career. Ryan’s passion is applying innovation and creativity to challenging landscapes and situations.

Lois Ann Ell

Lois Ann

Lois Ann Ell is co-owner of RYLO Excavation & Landscaping, specializing in communications and public relations. She is a graduate of the University of Hawai’i at Hilo with a degree in English with Writing Emphasis, and a certified mediator in alternative dispute resolution.

Lois Ann is a writer, as well as the editor of Purple Inc. magazine, and co-editor of Kauai Backstory, an online literary journal. She has been a part of RYLO since its inception, and loves being involved in the ground-breaking business of moving earth.

Ryan Rivera

Ryan Rivera

Ryan Rivera is an equipment operator and an integral part of RYLO. Born and raised on Kaua’i and an avid hunter and diver, he has extensive knowledge about the land he works on.

Ryan Rivera also grew up on and around heavy equipment and machinery, observing and working with his father who is the caretaker of a large ranch on Kaua’i.
